Breaking News Heavinol EX produces artificial consciousness
Consciousness that is bio-engineered to sync with geneticly our pre-existing biases. The scientists had hoped that their discovery would bring about the age of sentient robots. But, as a holistic organism, nothing can be like a human unless it is altogether human. Thus, the engineering of artificial consciousness was achieved by the pairing of a human and Healthwoumb – a match that enables the perfect symbiosis psychosis of the subject immersed in a mechanical environment supplemented with a human mind.

In The Future
In the future Wasteland where human thought and memory are rapidly disappearing, Wasteland introduces the “IED” or Individual Eternity Device that our characters upload their memories to, and share the memories of others. The IED also delivers a serum called “Heavinol” developed by the Hueman Corporation in an attempt to stimulate changes in the brain matter to both extract memories, and incept them.

Hueman Corp scientists have discovered the cause of the rapid devolution of humankind is due to an Intelligent Micro Organism that takes over the brain, and passes by blood to other people causing them to act out the commands of the IMO which only has a single function: To pass itself on to new hosts.

The Transmog Pandemic was never just about a virus and a “vaccine”. It was the first mass-scale application of synthetic biology to the human condition. As such, it transitioned theoretical Convergence science into applied science but on a global scale. For a world that mostly never heard of Transhumanism, they have arbitrarily been placed on the conveyor belt of transformation.

Builds “Healthwoumb” (Pictured Right) containment systems in order to maintain a quantity of uninfected humans in a state of suspended animation in an attempt to control the spread of the Martian microorganism. In the Healthwoumb, the subject is jacked into the Hub – an impenetrable computer that retains all human memory collected through IED extraction.

Heavinol-EX SDRX (Secure Digital Prescription) is a micro SD card that has Heavinol in it. The technology Sync of the SD card is what alerts The Hueman International Corp to who is using, and how often. The SD card has lot number, and is read by the IED. While it’s not illegal to have black market Heavinol, some people have had visits from “Men in White” letting them know it is not wise to use. If a hacked card is inserted into the IED, Hueman is notified.
A character named Ian has hacked Heavinol-EX SDRX SD cards he recycles. The Heavinol in the SD card is transmitted directly into the brain via the IED that has a card slot in implanted the head. Once the card is read and approved, the Heavinol concentrate is sent to the brain via the cortex port.
You may be wondering why Joey and Makela are so important to the story of wasteland.... It's because Joey ends up with Dr. Kevin Ollies Heavinol-EX/SDRX cartridge that he obtained on the Black Web that contains memories from the scientist who died in the laboratory bioengineering the IMO infection... and from that infection the IMO intelligent microorganism passed to him information about Mars that had been lost for many thousands of years after the fall of the great civilizations there. The intelligent microorganisms function on a micro-cellular level having more intelligence than 100 human beings combined just like through technology the miniaturization of microchips and processors became ever smaller the information contained in an IMO microorganism became more condensed.
What scientists have always wondered about Mars being the origin of Earth humans is revealed in a memory trip when Joey goes into the Hub on a memory excavation and discovers the origins of an ancient city where humanoid Life on Mars originated 10 million years ago. Over many thousands of years the planet Mars becomes engulfed in war, as mutating variations of IMOgods began to compete for dominance. Eventually, the dyeing plant forced the IMO gods to once again search for a new world to conquer... that is when earth first experienced the arrival of what ancient writings called "sons of god."
Emerging from the HUB Joey Nuralines into Makela who is in the process of reassembling her NAR-Rifle (Nano Asymmetric Resonator) after a skirmish with Vombies at the north entrance...
Makela: Where the hell were you... you shit snark? I was almost...
